May was a big month for us. I spent a weekend at TDI in Ohio taking their Pistol II and III classes, a full review is in progress, the following weekend was spent taking the NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside of the Home Instructors Course, and the weekend after that I found myself in a NRA Training Counselor Workshop and pending approval, I will be appointed and NRA Training Counselor which means that in the future we will be offering instructor courses as well.
Melody is currently taking the NRA's Refuse to Be a Victim Instructors Course this week so look for those offerings as well.
It is my hope that we will be able to begin holding Basics of Personal Protection Outside of the Home near the tend of Summer / early Fall where cooler weather will make working from concealment a little more bearable.
Our Iowa Defensive Pistol Classes will be undergoing a little fine tuning to talk more on the fundamentals of defensive shooting, gear placement, and a more in depth portion on holstering/re-holstering.
